Emily Le Merle

Commercial marketing enablement and transformation.

About me.

A woman with long red hair smiling on a city street.

I’m Commercial Marketing Enablement Director at Informa PLC, a FTSE 100 events and intelligence business, working alongside senior leadership across multiple event marketing teams.

I’ve spent almost a decade working on world-class large-scale events, however I came to commercial work the long way round. I trained as a theatre maker, with a Masters with Distinction from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, a run at the Edinburgh Fringe and workshops delivered inside prison institutions.

Aligning people around a clear direction, reading the room when stakes are high and holding momentum when the going gets tough were theatre disciplines first. Now they're essential for leading any successful marketing team in the AI age.

On both sides of the Atlantic, in the work.

Half a decade of working US-to-London, inside the teams where the US and Europe meet and have to deliver together. Most of what I know about cross-market commercial work, I learned in that friction.

San Francisco gave me optimism and the instinct to say yes to the bigger version of the plan, the belief that the thing is winnable if you put enough good people on it. London gave me the operational love. The nuts and bolts of a team that delivers efficiently at scale.

What's on my mind?

I write things down to figure out what I think and occasionally something useful falls out. You're welcome to read over my shoulder.
